The Phoenix College Creative Writing Program is holding its annual Microburst Writers Conference on April 19, 2008 in the Dome Room at the college's Osborn Campus.


Microburst is a day-long conference that offers multiple morning and afternoon presentations and workshops dealing with various aspects and genres of writing. A catered lunch prepared and served by Phoenix College's Culinary Arts School is included.


Authors scheduled to present include:


Jim Sallis is the author of the Lew Griffin series, Drive, Cypress Grove, and Cripple Creek.


Karl Iglesias is a screenwriter, instructor, and story consultant who specializes in the reader's emotional response to the written page.


Ying Chang Compestine is the Award winning author of Revolution is Not a Dinner Party as well as many children's books and cookbooks.


Stephen Geller?s screenplay for Slaughterhouse-Five won the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as a nomination by the Writer's Guild of America.


Beckian Fritz Goldberg is the author of several volumes of poetry including, Body Betrayer, In the Badlands of Desire, and Never Be The Horse.
