New England Screenwriters Alliance (NESA) MeetUp
|
WELCOME TO THE NEW ENGLAND SCREENWRITERS ALLIANCE. We are based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. (Not to be confused with the screenwriters group in Tyngsboro, another great resource!) We are an Affiliate of the American Screenwriters Association (ASA) This screenwriter's forum was founded in 1997 by two writers with very different backgrounds; one in computer programming, the other in teaching preschool. That diversity continues to be an important element within our group's makeup, not only in backgrounds, but in experience as well. The novice screenwriter is as welcome as the most experienced. In recent years our members have branched out in other forms of writing as well, so we now critique novel excerpts and short stories in addition to screenplays. But that's not to say it's all work and no play. After the meetings we often adjourn to a local restaurant/pub for more socializing; occasionally we see movies together, and there's usually at least one party not to be missed per year! Also, we will be posting events of interest to screenwriters -- indie screenings, director talks, and other stuff.

Then we critique the latest offering from one of our members.
